The Marion Harding Presidents were defeated 48–42 by the Yellowjackets in a non-conference varsity girls basketball game. Despite Harding’s balanced scoring and strong defensive effort early on, a cold shooting stretch in the final quarter allowed the Yellowjackets to secure the win.
The game took place on Tuesday, November 25, at Marion Harding High School.
According to reports, Marion Harding put together a strong first half, leading 31–28 at halftime with a 13-point first quarter and an 18-point surge in the second. However, Mount Vernon shifted the momentum in the third quarter with a 12–7 advantage. The Yellowjackets’ defensive pressure held Harding to just four points in the fourth quarter, resulting in a 48–42 finish.
Marion Harding is set to return home for a conference matchup against Highland on Thursday, December 4.
The last meeting between Marion Harding and Highland occurred on December 7, 2024, when Marion Harding achieved a decisive road victory by defeating Highland 50–36 in a conference matchup.
