Defensively, Mount Vernon leaned heavily on junior Cooper Swanson, who posted a team high 10 digs and handled 35 serve receive attempts, part of the team’s 72 total receptions on the night. Junior Kirklin Kanuckel also delivered a steady performance with 14 digs and 20 serve receives, helping stabilize the back row. Despite the defensive effort, Mt. Vernon struggled with consistency at the net, recording 25 attacking errors, while 14 service errors limited opportunities to build sustained pressure. The Yellow Jackets’ blocking unit produced eight total blocks, including four from Nicholas, but Moeller’s steady offense ultimately closed out the match.” according to MaxPreps.
